Ingredients

1 lb ground beef

1 medium onion, finely diced

2 cloves garlic, minced

1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce

1 cup tomato sauce

1 tablespoon brown sugar

1 tablespoon chili powder

1 teaspoon cumin

1 teaspoon smoked paprika

Salt and pepper to taste

4 hamburger buns

1 cup shredded cheddar cheese

Sliced jalapeños for topping (optional)

Fresh cilantro for garnish (optional)

Instructions

In a large skillet over medium heat, add the ground beef. Cook until browned, breaking it apart with a spoon as it cooks (about 5-7 minutes).

Drain any excess fat, then add the diced onion and minced garlic to the skillet. Sauté until the onion is translucent, about 3-4 minutes.

Stir in the Worcestershire sauce, tomato sauce, brown sugar, chili powder, cumin, smoked paprika, salt, and pepper. Mix well to combine all the ingredients.

Reduce the heat to low and let the mixture simmer for 10-15 minutes, allowing the flavors to meld and the sauce to thicken slightly.

Meanwhile, preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).

Place the hamburger buns on a baking sheet and toast them in the oven for about 5 minutes until they are lightly golden.

Once the meat mixture is ready, spoon it generously onto each toasted bun. Top with shredded cheddar cheese.

Return the loaded sandwiches to the oven and bake for an additional 5 minutes or until the cheese is melted and bubbly.

Remove the sandwiches from the oven and add sliced jalapeños on top if desired. Garnish with fresh cilantro for a colorful touch.
