Ingredients

2 cups all-purpose flour

1 tablespoon baking powder

1/2 teaspoon baking soda

1 teaspoon garlic powder

1/2 teaspoon paprika

1 teaspoon salt

3/4 cup shredded sharp cheddar cheese

1/2 cup cold unsalted butter, cubed

3/4 cup buttermilk

1 cup lump crab meat, drained and picked for shells

1/4 cup green onions, finely chopped

1/4 cup cream cheese, softened

1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce

1 teaspoon hot sauce (optional)

1/4 cup melted butter (for brushing)

1 tablespoon chopped parsley (for garnish)

Instructions

Preheat your oven to 425°F (220°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.

In a large mixing bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, baking soda, garlic powder, paprika, and salt until well combined.

Cut in the cold cubed butter using a pastry cutter or your fingertips until the mixture resembles coarse crumbs.

Stir in the shredded cheddar cheese until evenly distributed.

Slowly add the buttermilk, mixing until just combined. Be careful not to overwork the dough.

In a separate bowl, mix together the lump crab meat, green onions, cream cheese, Worcestershire sauce, and hot sauce (if using). Gently fold this mixture into the biscuit dough, being cautious not to break up the crab meat too much.

Scoop out portions of the dough (about 1/4 cup each) and place them on the prepared baking sheet, leaving space between each biscuit.

Bake in the preheated oven for 15-20 minutes, or until the tops are golden and the biscuits are cooked through.

Once baked, remove them from the oven and immediately brush the tops with melted butter.

Garnish with chopped parsley for a fresh finish and serve warm.
