Ingredients

4 cups water

4 black tea bags

1 cup fresh strawberries, hulled and sliced

3/4 cup granulated sugar (adjust to taste)

1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract

Lemon slices, for garnish

Fresh mint leaves, for garnish

Instructions

In a medium saucepan, bring the 4 cups of water to a boil over medium-high heat.

Once boiling, remove the pan from heat and add the black tea bags. Steep for about 5-7 minutes, depending on your preferred tea strength.

While the tea is steeping, prepare the strawberry syrup. In a separate small saucepan, combine the sliced strawberries and sugar. Cook on medium-low heat, gently mashing the strawberries with a fork until they release their juices and the mixture becomes syrupy (about 5-10 minutes).

After the tea has steeped, remove the tea bags and add the vanilla extract. Stir well.

Strain the strawberry syrup through a fine-mesh sieve, pressing out as much liquid as possible. Discard the solids.

Combine the strawberry syrup with the brewed tea in a large pitcher. Stir to combine and adjust sweetness if needed.

Chill the tea in the refrigerator for at least 1-2 hours or until cold.

Serve the tea over ice, garnished with lemon slices and fresh mint leaves for a refreshing twist.
