Ingredients

2 cups all-purpose flour

1/4 cup granulated sugar

1/2 teaspoon salt

1 packet (2 1/4 teaspoons) instant yeast

1/2 cup whole milk, warmed

1/4 cup unsalted butter, melted

1 large egg

1/2 cup cream cheese, softened

1/4 cup powdered sugar

1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract

1 cup fresh strawberries, chopped

1/2 teaspoon lemon zest

1/4 teaspoon cinnamon

Instructions

In a mixing bowl, combine the flour, granulated sugar, salt, and instant yeast. Mix well.

In another bowl, whisk together the warm milk, melted butter, and egg. Gradually add this mixture to the flour mixture, stirring until a dough forms.

Knead the dough on a floured surface for about 5-7 minutes until smooth and elastic.

Place the dough in a greased bowl, cover with a kitchen towel, and let it rise in a warm place for about 1 hour, or until it has doubled in size.

While the dough rises, prepare the filling. In a medium bowl, mix the softened cream cheese, powdered sugar, vanilla extract, lemon zest, and cinnamon until smooth and creamy. Set aside.

After the dough has risen, punch it down and roll it out on a floured surface into a rectangle (about 12x18 inches).

Spread the cream cheese mixture evenly over the surface of the dough. Sprinkle the chopped strawberries over the cream cheese layer.

Starting from one long edge, roll the dough tightly into a log. Pinch the seam to seal.

Cut the log into 12 equal pieces and place them in a greased baking dish.

Cover the rolls with the kitchen towel and let them rise for another 30 minutes.

Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Bake the rolls for about 25-30 minutes, or until golden brown.

Allow the rolls to cool slightly before dusting with powdered sugar or drizzling with a simple icing made from powdered sugar and milk.

Prep Time: 20 minutes | Total Time: 2 hours | Servings: 12 rolls

                            - Presentation Tips: Serve warm on a rustic wooden board, garnished with fresh strawberry slices and a sprig of mint for a vibrant touch.
