Ingredients

2 ribeye steaks (about 1-inch thick)

2 tablespoons olive oil

3 cloves garlic, minced

1 teaspoon dried oregano

1 teaspoon red pepper flakes (adjust to taste)

1 can (14 oz) crushed tomatoes

1 bell pepper (red or yellow), sliced

1 small onion, sliced

Salt and pepper, to taste

Fresh basil leaves, for garnish

Grated Parmesan cheese, for serving

Instructions

Prepare the Steak: Season the ribeye steaks generously with salt and pepper on both sides. Set them aside to bring them closer to room temperature while you prepare the sauce.

Cook the Steaks: In a large skillet or frying pan, heat the olive oil over medium-high heat. Add the ribeye steaks and sear for about 3-4 minutes on each side until browned and cooked to your preferred doneness (medium-rare is about 135°F). Remove the steaks from the skillet and keep warm, covered with foil.

Sauté the Vegetables: In the same skillet, add a little more olive oil if necessary, then add the minced garlic, sliced bell pepper, and onion. Sauté for about 4-5 minutes, or until the vegetables have softened and the onion is translucent.

Make the Sauce: Sprinkle the dried oregano and red pepper flakes over the sautéed vegetables. Stir for about 30 seconds until fragrant. Pour in the crushed tomatoes and bring the mixture to a gentle simmer. Season with salt and pepper to taste. Let the sauce simmer for about 10 minutes, stirring occasionally to combine flavors.

Combine and Heat Through: Nestle the seared steaks back into the skillet with the sauce, spooning the sauce over the tops of the steaks. Allow everything to cook together for another 3-5 minutes, ensuring the steaks are heated through and well-coated with the pizzaiola sauce.

Serve: Once heated, transfer the steaks to a serving platter. Pour the remaining sauce, along with the sautéed peppers and onions, over the steaks. Garnish with fresh basil leaves and sprinkle with grated Parmesan cheese.

              Prep Time: 10 minutes | Total Time: 30 minutes | Servings: 2-4

                - Presentation Tips: Serve the Steak Pizzaiola on individual plates with a generous scoop of sauce and vegetables on top. Pair with a loaf of crusty bread to soak up the rich flavors or a side of creamy polenta for a complete meal!
