12 mozzarella sticks

12 slices of bacon

1 cup all-purpose flour

2 large eggs, beaten

1 cup breadcrumbs (preferably panko for extra crunch)

1 tablespoon paprika

1 teaspoon cayenne pepper

1 teaspoon garlic powder

1 teaspoon onion powder

1 teaspoon smoked paprika

Salt and black pepper to taste

½ cup Nashville hot chicken seasoning (or adjust to preference)

Cooking spray or vegetable oil for frying

Prepare the Mozzarella Sticks: Freeze the mozzarella sticks for at least 30 minutes. This helps them hold their shape during frying.

    Preheat Oven: Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.

      Wrap the Sticks: Once the mozzarella sticks are firm, take one slice of bacon and wrap it around each mozzarella stick. Secure the ends with toothpicks if necessary.

        Set Up Breading Station: In three separate shallow dishes, set up your breading station. In the first dish, place the flour. In the second dish, keep the beaten eggs. In the third dish, combine the breadcrumbs, paprika, cayenne pepper, garlic powder, onion powder, smoked paprika, salt, and black pepper.

          Bread the Sticks: Roll each bacon-wrapped mozzarella stick first in flour, then dip it into the beaten eggs, and finally coat it with the seasoned breadcrumbs. Press gently to ensure the breadcrumbs adhere well.

            Fry the Mozzarella Sticks: In a large skillet, pour enough oil to cover the bottom about 1/4 inch deep. Heat over medium-high heat. Once hot, carefully add the breaded sticks in batches, avoiding overcrowding. Fry for about 3-4 minutes on each side or until the bacon is crispy and the cheese starts to ooze out.

              Bake for Extra Crunch: Transfer the fried mozzarella sticks onto the lined baking sheet. Bake in the preheated oven for an additional 5-7 minutes to ensure the cheese is perfectly melted and the bacon is fully cooked.
