6 medium potatoes, peeled and diced

1 large onion, chopped

3 cloves garlic, minced

4 cups vegetable broth

2 cups kielbasa or smoked sausage, sliced

2 cups shredded carrots

2 teaspoons dried thyme

1/2 cup sour cream
