Ingredients

1 lb fresh Brussels sprouts, trimmed and shredded

2 tablespoons olive oil

1 tablespoon fresh lemon juice

1 tablespoon orange zest

1 tablespoon honey

1/2 teaspoon red pepper flakes (adjust for spice preference)

1/4 cup almonds, sliced or chopped

1/4 cup dried cranberries

Salt and pepper to taste

Fresh parsley for garnish (optional)

Instructions

Begin by trimming the stem of each Brussels sprout and removing any outer leaves that are damaged. Slice each sprout in half and then shred them into thin ribbons using a sharp knife or a food processor.

In a large skillet, heat the olive oil over medium heat. Once hot, add the shredded Brussels sprouts and sauté for about 5-7 minutes, stirring occasionally until they become tender and slightly golden.

In a small bowl, combine the lemon juice, orange zest, honey, and red pepper flakes. Whisk until well blended.

Pour the citrus dressing over the sautéed Brussels sprouts, tossing well to ensure the sprouts are coated with the mixture. Cook for an additional 2-3 minutes to allow the flavors to meld.

Stir in the sliced almonds and dried cranberries, cooking for another minute until the nuts are lightly toasted and fragrant.

Season the dish with salt and pepper to taste. Remove from heat and serve immediately.
