Ingredients

1 lb ground beef

1/2 lb ground pork

1 small onion, finely chopped

1/4 cup breadcrumbs

1/4 cup milk

1 egg, beaten

1 teaspoon allspice

1/2 teaspoon nutmeg

Salt and pepper to taste

2 tablespoons olive oil

2 cups beef broth

2 tablespoons soy sauce (or tamari for gluten-free)

1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce

1 tablespoon cornstarch (optional, for thickening)

Fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)

Instructions

In a large mixing bowl, combine the ground beef, ground pork, finely chopped onion, breadcrumbs, milk, beaten egg, allspice, nutmeg, salt, and pepper. Mix until all ingredients are well incorporated.

Form the mixture into 1-inch meatballs and place them on a plate. You should get about 20 meatballs.

Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Add the meatballs in batches to avoid overcrowding.

Sear the meatballs on all sides until they are golden brown, about 5-7 minutes. Transfer the browned meatballs to a plate and set aside.

In the same skillet, add the beef broth, soy sauce, and Worcestershire sauce. Bring the mixture to a gentle simmer.

If you prefer a thicker sauce, mix the cornstarch with a little cold water in a small bowl and then stir it into the broth. Allow the sauce to simmer for 2-3 minutes, or until it thickens slightly.

Return the meatballs to the skillet with the sauce. Cover and let them simmer for about 10-15 minutes, or until cooked through.

Once cooked, taste the sauce and adjust seasoning if necessary.

Serve the meatballs hot, garnished with freshly chopped parsley.

                      - Presentation Tips: Serve the meatballs over creamy mashed potatoes or with fresh egg noodles. Drizzle some of the sauce over for added flavor and garnish with additional parsley for a pop of color.
