Ingredients

250g shell pasta

400g ground beef

1 medium onion, finely chopped

2 cloves garlic, minced

1 bell pepper, diced (red or yellow)

1 can (400g) diced tomatoes

1 cup beef broth

1 teaspoon dried oregano

1 teaspoon smoked paprika

Salt and pepper to taste

1 tablespoon olive oil

Fresh basil leaves for garnish

Grated Parmesan cheese for serving

Instructions

Cook the Pasta: In a large pot of salted boiling water, cook the shell pasta according to package instructions until al dente. Drain and set aside.

Sauté the Aromatics: In a large skillet, heat the olive oil over medium heat. Add the chopped onion and cook for 3-4 minutes until translucent. Add the minced garlic and diced bell pepper, cooking for an additional 2 minutes until fragrant and soft.

Brown the Beef: Push the vegetables to one side of the skillet. Add the ground beef to the other side, breaking it apart with a spatula. Cook until browned, about 5-7 minutes.

Combine Ingredients: Stir in the canned diced tomatoes (with their juice) and beef broth into the skillet. Season with oregano, smoked paprika, salt, and pepper. Mix everything together well.

Simmer: Bring the mixture to a gentle simmer and let it cook for about 10-12 minutes, allowing the flavors to meld and the liquid to reduce slightly.

Add Pasta: Gently fold in the cooked shell pasta and continue cooking for another 2-3 minutes, ensuring the pasta is well-coated with the savory beef mixture.

Serve: Remove from heat and serve warm, garnished with fresh basil leaves and a sprinkle of grated Parmesan cheese on top.
