Ingredients

4 medium-sized potatoes, peeled and cut into sticks

1 cup grated cheddar cheese

1/2 cup all-purpose flour

1/2 cup breadcrumbs (panko for extra crunch)

2 large eggs

1 teaspoon garlic powder

1 teaspoon onion powder

1/2 teaspoon paprika

Salt and pepper to taste

Oil for frying

Fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)

Instructions

Prepare the Potatoes: Start by soaking the cut potato sticks in cold water for about 30 minutes. This helps to release excess starch, resulting in crispier sticks.

Boil Potatoes: Drain the potatoes and place them in a pot of salted water. Bring it to a boil and cook for around 5-7 minutes until slightly tender but still firm. Drain and let them cool.

Make the Cheese Mixture: In a large mixing bowl, combine the grated cheddar cheese, garlic powder, onion powder, paprika, salt, and pepper. Mix thoroughly until the cheese is well coated in spices.

Coat the Potato Sticks: Take each cooled potato stick and make a small slit on the side. Stuff about a teaspoon of the cheese mixture into each stick.

Prepare the Breading Station: Set up three bowls - one with flour, one with beaten eggs, and one with breadcrumbs.

Bread the Sticks: Dip each stuffed potato stick first in flour, shaking off excess, then in the egg wash, and finally coat it in breadcrumbs. Ensure the sticks are well coated for maximum crunch.

Fry the Sticks: Heat oil in a deep skillet over medium-high heat. Once hot, carefully place the potato sticks in batches, frying until golden brown and crispy, about 4-5 minutes per side. Do not overcrowd the pan.

Drain and Serve: Remove the sticks using a slotted spoon and place them on a plate lined with paper towels to absorb excess oil.

Garnish and Enjoy: Transfer to a serving platter, sprinkle with chopped parsley, and serve hot with your favorite dipping sauce.
