1 medium red onion, finely chopped

1 jalapeño, deseeded and minced

1/2 cup fresh cilantro, chopped

2 limes, juiced

1/2 teaspoon sea salt

1/4 teaspoon black pepper

1/4 teaspoon garlic powder (optional)

Instructions

In a large mixing bowl, combine the diced tomatoes and finely chopped red onion.

Add the minced jalapeño to the bowl, adjusting the quantity based on your spice preference.

Stir in the chopped cilantro, making sure it is evenly distributed throughout the mixture.

Squeeze the juice of the two limes over the ingredients.

Season the mixture with sea salt, black pepper, and garlic powder if using.

Gently toss all the ingredients together until well mixed. Be careful not to mash the tomatoes.

Taste and adjust seasoning as desired, adding more lime juice or salt if needed.

Cover and let the Pico de Gallo sit at room temperature for about 15 minutes to allow the flavors to meld together.
