Ingredients

2 cans (15 oz each) sliced peaches in syrup, drained

1 cup fresh or frozen blueberries (optional for added flavor)

1 box yellow cake mix

1 cup unsalted butter, melted

1 teaspoon ground cinnamon

1/2 teaspoon nutmeg

1 cup brown sugar (lightly packed)

Vanilla ice cream or whipped cream for serving

Instructions

Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).

In a 9x13 inch baking dish, spread the drained sliced peaches evenly across the bottom. If using, sprinkle the blueberries over the peaches.

In a small bowl, mix together the ground cinnamon and nutmeg, and sprinkle this spice mixture evenly over the peach and blueberry layer.

Evenly pour the dry yellow cake mix over the fruit layer, ensuring it covers everything well.

Drizzle the melted butter evenly over the cake mix; do not stir—this creates a deliciously crisp topping as it bakes.

Finally, sprinkle the brown sugar evenly over the buttered cake mix.

Bake in the preheated oven for 45-50 minutes or until the top is golden brown and bubbly.

Once done, allow it to cool for a few minutes.

Serve warm topped with a scoop of vanilla ice cream or a dollop of whipped cream.

                      - Presentation Tips: Serve directly from the baking dish or in individual bowls, drizzled with extra syrup from the peaches if desired, and garnished with a sprig of mint for color.
