Ingredients

2 boneless ribeye steaks (about 1 inch thick)

Salt and pepper to taste

2 tablespoons olive oil

1 large onion, thinly sliced

3 cloves garlic, minced

2 cups beef broth

2 tablespoons all-purpose flour

1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce (optional)

1 teaspoon dried thyme

1 bay leaf

Fresh parsley for garnish

Instructions

Season the steaks generously with salt and pepper on both sides.

In a large skillet, heat the olive oil over medium-high heat. Once hot, add the steaks and sear for about 4-5 minutes on each side, or until they reach your desired doneness. Remove from the skillet and set aside to rest.

In the same skillet, add the sliced onions and sauté over medium heat until they become soft and translucent, about 8-10 minutes.

Add the minced garlic and continue to cook for another 1-2 minutes, until fragrant.

Sprinkle the flour over the onions and stir well to combine, cooking for an additional minute.

Gradually pour in the beef broth while continuously stirring to avoid lumps.

Add the Worcestershire sauce, thyme, and bay leaf. Bring the mixture to a simmer and let it cook for about 5-7 minutes until the gravy thickens.

Return the steaks to the skillet, spoon the onion gravy over them, and let them simmer together for another 2-3 minutes.

Remove the bay leaf before serving.

                    Prep Time: 15 minutes | Total Time: 40 minutes | Servings: 2

                      - Presentation Tips: Serve the steaks on a platter, smothered in onion gravy, and sprinkle with fresh parsley. Pair with creamy mashed potatoes or steamed green beans for a traditional Southern feast!
