Ingredients

1 pound ground beef

1/2 cup breadcrumbs

1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese

1/4 cup finely chopped onion

1 egg, beaten

1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce

1 teaspoon garlic powder

Salt and pepper to taste

2 tablespoons olive oil (for frying)

1 cup beef broth

1 tablespoon soy sauce

1 tablespoon cornstarch (optional, for thickening)

8 ounces mushrooms, sliced

2 tablespoons butter

2 tablespoons all-purpose flour

Fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)

Instructions

In a large mixing bowl, combine the ground beef, breadcrumbs, Parmesan cheese, chopped onion, beaten egg, Worcestershire sauce, garlic powder, salt, and pepper. Mix until just combined.

Shape the mixture into 4 oval patties, about 1 inch thick.

Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Add the patties and cook for about 4-5 minutes on each side, until browned and cooked through. Remove patties from the skillet and set aside.

In the same skillet, add butter and sliced mushrooms. Sauté for about 5 minutes, or until the mushrooms are soft and golden brown.

Sprinkle flour over the mushrooms and cook for an additional minute, stirring to combine.

Gradually add the beef broth and soy sauce, whisking continuously to prevent lumps. Bring the mixture to a simmer.

If you prefer a thicker gravy, dissolve cornstarch in a tablespoon of water and add it to the skillet, stirring until the gravy thickens to your desired consistency.

Return the cooked Salisbury steaks to the skillet, spooning the gravy over them. Cook for an additional 2-3 minutes until heated through.

Serve warm; garnish with freshly chopped parsley.

                    Prep Time: 15 minutes | Total Time: 30 minutes | Servings: 4

                      - Presentation Tips: Serve the Salisbury steaks on a bed of creamy mashed potatoes, with a generous amount of mushroom gravy poured over the top. Add a side of steamed green beans or corn for vibrant color and balance.
