1 cup unsalted butter, softened

1 ½ cups granulated sugar

4 large eggs

2 teaspoons pure vanilla extract

2 cups all-purpose flour

1 teaspoon baking powder

½ teaspoon salt

½ cup whole milk

1 tablespoon vanilla bean paste (optional for extra flavor)

Powdered sugar for dusting

Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a mini loaf pan or mini muffin pan with cooking spray or butter.

    In a large mixing bowl, cream the softened butter and granulated sugar together using an electric mixer until the mixture is light and fluffy, about 3-4 minutes.

      Add the eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition. Then, stir in the vanilla extract and optional vanilla bean paste until combined.

        In a separate bowl, whisk together the all-purpose flour, baking powder, and salt.

          Gradually add the dry ingredients to the butter and sugar mixture, alternating with the whole milk. Start and end with the flour mixture, mixing until just combined to avoid overmixing.

            Pour the batter into the prepared mini loaf or muffin pan, filling each compartment about two-thirds full.

              Bake in the preheated oven for 18-22 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.

                Remove from the oven and allow the mini cakes to cool in the pan for 5 minutes before transferring to a wire rack to cool completely.

                  Once cooled, dust with powdered sugar for added sweetness and elegance.
