Ingredients

1 pound of thick-cut pastrami, warmed

2 slices of rye bread

2 tablespoons yellow mustard

2 slices of Swiss cheese (optional)

Dill pickles, for serving

Instructions

Start by warming the pastrami. Place it in a skillet over medium heat until heated through and slightly crispy, about 5–7 minutes. You can cover it to keep moisture in while it warms.

While the pastrami is heating, toast the rye bread slices until golden brown, either in a toaster or on a skillet.

Once the pastrami is ready, spread a generous amount of yellow mustard on one slice of toasted rye bread.

Layer the warmed pastrami on top of the mustard-coated slice, followed by the optional Swiss cheese.

Top with the second slice of toasted rye bread, pressing down gently to hold everything together.

Optional: For a melty twist, place the assembled sandwich back on the skillet, pressing it down slightly and cook for 1–2 minutes per side until the cheese melts and the bread is crispy.

Slice the sandwich in half diagonally for presentation. Serve with dill pickles on the side.

Prep Time: 10 minutes | Total Time: 20 minutes | Servings: 1 sandwich

                  - Presentation Tips: Serve the sandwich on a wooden or slate board with pickles placed artfully beside it and an extra dab of mustard for dipping.
