Ingredients

2 teaspoons matcha powder

1 cup milk (or dairy-free alternative)

2 tablespoons brown sugar (adjust to taste)

1/2 cup cold water

1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract

Ice cubes

Whipped cream (optional for garnish)

A pinch of sea salt (optional)

Instructions

Prepare the Matcha Mixture: In a small bowl, add the matcha powder. Pour in a little bit of cold water (just enough to make a paste) and whisk vigorously with a matcha whisk or a small frother until smooth and lump-free.

Dissolve the Brown Sugar: In a medium saucepan over low heat, add the remaining cold water and brown sugar. Stir until the sugar is completely dissolved. Remove from heat and let cool for a few minutes.

Combine Ingredients: In a glass, combine the cooled brown sugar water with the milk and the vanilla extract. Stir well to incorporate all ingredients.

Add Matcha: Gently pour the matcha mixture over the milk mixture to create a beautiful layered effect. You can also whisk it in for a uniform color if you prefer.

Assemble the Latte: Fill a tall glass with ice cubes, then pour the prepared iced matcha latte mixture over the ice.

Optional Topping: For a fancy touch, top with whipped cream and a sprinkle of sea salt to enhance flavor.

Serve: Give the drink a gentle stir before enjoying to mix the flavors.
