Ingredients

2 cups all-purpose flour

1 tablespoon baking powder

1/2 teaspoon salt

1/4 teaspoon black pepper

1 cup sharp cheddar cheese, shredded

1 cup diced ham (preferably cooked)

1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted

1 cup milk

1/4 teaspoon garlic powder

1/4 teaspoon smoked paprika (optional for a smoky flavor)

Fresh chives, chopped (for garnish)

Instructions

Preheat your oven to 425°F (220°C) and grease a 9x13 inch baking dish.

In a large mixing bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, salt, black pepper, garlic powder, and smoked paprika until well combined.

Stir in the shredded cheddar cheese and diced ham to the flour mixture until evenly distributed.

In a separate bowl, combine the melted butter and milk, mixing until well blended.

Pour the butter and milk mixture into the dry ingredients, stirring gently until just combined. Be careful not to over-mix; a few lumps are okay.

Spoon the biscuit dough into the greased baking dish, spreading it evenly.

Bake in the preheated oven for 20-25 minutes, or until the biscuits are golden brown and a toothpick inserted comes out clean.

Remove from the oven and allow to cool slightly before serving.

For a decorative touch, top with chopped fresh chives for garnish before serving.

                    Prep Time: 15 minutes | Total Time: 40 minutes | Servings: 8-10

                      - Presentation Tips: Serve the biscuits warm in the baking dish or on a wooden cutting board, sliced into squares, for a rustic touch. Pair with a side of honey or a light herb butter for added flavor!
