Ingredients

1 lb pizza dough (store-bought or homemade)

4 tablespoons unsalted butter, melted

4 cloves garlic, minced

1 teaspoon dried parsley

1 teaspoon dried oregano

1/2 teaspoon red pepper flakes (optional)

1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese

Salt to taste

Fresh basil leaves, for garnish (optional)

Instructions

Preheat your oven to 425°F (220°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.

If using store-bought pizza dough, let it come to room temperature for easy handling.

Divide the pizza dough into 12 equal pieces. Roll each piece into a long strip (about 8 inches long) and then tie it into a knot. Place the knots on the prepared baking sheet.

In a small bowl, combine the melted butter, minced garlic, dried parsley, dried oregano, red pepper flakes (if using), and a pinch of salt. Mix well.

Brush the garlic butter mixture generously over each knot, making sure to get some garlic pieces on top. Reserve a little aside to brush over after baking.

Sprinkle the grated Parmesan cheese over the knots.

Bake in the preheated oven for about 12-15 minutes, or until the knots are golden brown and puffed up.

Once out of the oven, immediately brush them with the reserved garlic butter mixture again for extra flavor.

Let cool for a couple of minutes before serving. Garnish with fresh basil leaves if desired.
