Ingredients

8 ounces cream cheese, softened

1/4 cup powdered sugar

1 teaspoon vanilla extract

1 cup fresh strawberries, hulled and sliced

4 slices of thick bread (like brioche or Texas toast)

1/2 cup flour

1 egg, beaten

1 cup breadcrumbs (you can use panko for extra crunch)

Oil for frying (vegetable or canola)

Whipped cream for topping

Optional: Extra powdered sugar for dusting

Instructions

In a mixing bowl, combine the softened cream cheese, powdered sugar, and vanilla extract. Mix until smooth and creamy to form the cheesecake filling.

Lay the slices of bread flat on a clean surface. Spread a generous amount of cheesecake filling on two of the slices.

Layer the sliced strawberries on top of the cheesecake filling, then place the remaining two slices of bread on top, creating sandwiches.

Prepare your breading station: Place flour in one shallow dish, beaten egg in another, and breadcrumbs in a third dish.

Heat oil in a deep frying pan over medium heat (about 350°F or 175°C).

Dip each strawberry cheesecake sandwich first into the flour, ensuring it is coated on both sides. Shake off excess flour.

Next, dip the sandwich into the beaten egg, allowing any excess egg to drip off.

Finally, coat the sandwich in breadcrumbs, pressing lightly to ensure an even coating.

Carefully place the coated sandwiches in the hot oil, frying until golden brown and crispy, about 2-3 minutes per side. You may need to cook them in batches to avoid overcrowding the pan.

Once fried, transfer the sandwiches to a paper towel-lined plate to drain excess oil.

Serve warm, dusted with extra powdered sugar and a dollop of whipped cream on the side.

Prep Time: 20 minutes | Total Time: 30 minutes | Servings: 2-4 sandwiches

                          - Presentation Tips: Cut each sandwich diagonally and arrange them on a plate. Garnish with a few whole strawberries and a drizzle of chocolate syrup for an elegant touch!
