Ingredients

1 lb ground beef

1 lb ground pork

1 cup finely chopped onions

2 tablespoons olive oil

1 teaspoon garlic powder

1 teaspoon dried thyme

1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce

1 cup breadcrumbs

2 large eggs

1 cup grated Gruyère cheese

Salt and pepper to taste

½ cup beef broth

Optional: Fresh parsley for garnish

Instructions

Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).

In a skillet, heat the olive oil over medium heat. Add the chopped onions and a pinch of salt. Sauté for about 10-12 minutes until the onions are caramelized and golden brown. Remove and let cool slightly.

In a large mixing bowl, combine the ground beef and ground pork.

Add the cooked onions, garlic powder, dried thyme, Worcestershire sauce, breadcrumbs, eggs, and half the Gruyère cheese to the meat mixture. Season with salt and pepper.

Mix everything together with your hands until just combined, being careful not to overwork the meat.

Form the meat mixture into a loaf shape and place it in a greased baking dish or on a lined baking sheet.

Pour beef broth over the meatloaf for added moisture during baking.

Sprinkle the remaining Gruyère cheese on top of the meatloaf.

Bake in the preheated oven for 1 hour or until the internal temperature reaches 160°F (70°C).

Remove from the oven and let it rest for about 10 minutes before slicing.
