Ingredients

200g of a mix of cheeses (e.g., mozzarella, feta, and cheddar), cubed

1/4 cup extra virgin olive oil

2 tablespoons balsamic vinegar

2 cloves garlic, minced

1 teaspoon dried oregano

1 teaspoon dried basil

1/2 teaspoon crushed red pepper flakes (optional, for heat)

Zest of 1 lemon

Freshly cracked black pepper to taste

Fresh herbs (like parsley or basil) for garnish

Instructions

In a mixing bowl, combine the olive oil, balsamic vinegar, minced garlic, dried oregano, dried basil, crushed red pepper flakes (if using), lemon zest, and black pepper. Whisk together until well mixed.

Add the cubed cheeses to the bowl and gently toss to coat them evenly with the marinade.

Cover the bowl with plastic wrap or transfer the mixture into a jar with a tight-fitting lid. Let it marinate in the refrigerator for at least 30 minutes to allow the flavors to meld together. For best results, marinate for 2-4 hours or overnight.

Once marinated, remove the cheese from the refrigerator and let it sit at room temperature for about 15 minutes before serving. This will enhance the flavors and make the cheese more palatable.

Serve the marinated cheese on a platter, drizzling any leftover marinade over it. Garnish with fresh herbs like parsley or basil for a pop of color.

Prep Time: 10 minutes | Total Time: 40 minutes (or longer for marinating) | Servings: 4-6

              - Presentation Tips: Arrange the cheese cubes on a wooden board or a decorative platter, interspersing with fresh herb sprigs and serving with toothpicks or small skewers for easy eating.
