Ingredients

1 pound large shrimp, peeled and deveined

4 cloves garlic, minced

1 cup heavy cream

1 cup grated Gruyère cheese

1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese

1/4 cup breadcrumbs

2 tablespoons unsalted butter

2 tablespoons fresh parsley, chopped

Salt and pepper to taste

1 teaspoon red pepper flakes (optional)

Juice of 1 lemon

Instructions

Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).

In a large skillet, melt the butter over medium heat. Add the minced garlic and sauté for about 2 minutes until fragrant, being careful not to burn the garlic.

Add the peeled and deveined shrimp to the skillet. Season with salt, pepper, and red pepper flakes (if using). Cook for 3-4 minutes until the shrimp turn pink and opaque.

Pour in the heavy cream and stir to combine. Allow to simmer for another 2-3 minutes for the flavors to meld.

Remove the skillet from heat. Stir in the lemon juice, half of the Gruyère cheese, and half of the Parmesan cheese until well incorporated.

Transfer the shrimp mixture to a baking dish, spreading it evenly.

In a small bowl, combine the breadcrumbs with the remaining cheeses. Sprinkle this mixture evenly over the shrimp gratin.

Bake in the preheated oven for 20-25 minutes or until the top is golden brown and bubbly.

Once baked, remove from the oven and let it cool for a few minutes. Garnish with freshly chopped parsley before serving.
