1 can (15 oz) chickpeas, drained and rinsed

2 tablespoons olive oil

1 teaspoon smoked paprika

1/2 teaspoon garlic powder

1/2 teaspoon onion powder

1/4 teaspoon cayenne pepper (adjust to taste)

1 teaspoon sea salt

1/2 teaspoon black pepper

1 tablespoon freshly squeezed lemon juice

Fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish, optional)

Instructions
 

Preheat the oven to 400°F (200°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper for easy cleanup.

    After draining and rinsing the chickpeas, spread them out on a clean kitchen towel and pat them dry. Removing excess moisture helps achieve maximum crispiness.

      In a large mixing bowl, combine the dried chickpeas with olive oil, smoked paprika, garlic powder, onion powder, cayenne pepper, sea salt, and black pepper. Toss everything together until the chickpeas are evenly coated.

        Spread the chickpeas in a single layer on the prepared baking sheet. Ensure they have some space between them to allow for even cooking.

          Bake in the preheated oven for 30-35 minutes, shaking the baking sheet every 10-15 minutes to ensure even browning. The chickpeas should be golden brown and crispy when done.

            Remove from the oven and immediately drizzle with fresh lemon juice to add brightness to the flavors.

              Allow the chickpeas to cool slightly before serving, as they will continue to crisp up as they cool.

                If desired, sprinkle with chopped fresh parsley before serving for an added touch of color and freshness.
