Ingredients

1 lb ground beef (80/20 for optimal juiciness)

1 tsp Worcestershire sauce

1 tsp garlic powder

1 tsp onion powder

Salt and pepper to taste

4 brioche burger buns

4 slices of aged cheddar cheese

1 cup fresh arugula

1 large ripe tomato, sliced

1/2 red onion, thinly sliced

1/4 cup mayonnaise

2 tbsp Dijon mustard

Optional: pickles for topping

Instructions

Prepare the Patties: In a large bowl, gently combine ground beef, Worcestershire sauce, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and pepper. Handle the mixture as little as possible to keep the patties tender. Divide the mixture into four equal portions and shape into burger patties, making a slight indentation in the center to prevent puffing during cooking.

Preheat the Grill/Pan: Preheat your grill or skillet over medium-high heat. If using a grill, ensure it is greased to prevent sticking.

Cook the Patties: Place the burger patties on the hot grill or skillet. Cook for 4-5 minutes on one side, then flip them. After flipping, place a slice of cheddar cheese on top of each patty and cook for an additional 3-4 minutes or until the cheese is melted and the internal temperature reaches 160°F (71°C).

Toast the Buns: While the patties are cooking, cut the brioche buns in half and lightly toast them on the grill or in a separate pan until golden brown.

Prepare the Sauce: In a small bowl, mix the mayonnaise and Dijon mustard together until well combined.

Assemble the Burgers: Spread a generous amount of the mayo-mustard sauce on the bottom half of each toasted bun. Add a layer of arugula, followed by the cheese-topped burger patty. Top with slices of tomato, red onion, and optional pickles. Finish with the top half of the bun.

Serve: Serve the burgers with a side of crispy fries or a fresh salad. Enjoy your gourmet meal!
