Ingredients

1 medium head of green cabbage, chopped

1 pound ground beef

1 medium onion, diced

2 cloves garlic, minced

1 can (14.5 oz) diced tomatoes, undrained

1 cup beef broth

1 teaspoon smoked paprika

1 teaspoon Italian seasoning

Salt and pepper to taste

1 cup long-grain white rice, rinsed and drained

1 cup shredded cheddar cheese

Fresh parsley for garnish

Instructions

Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).

In a large, deep skillet or pot, brown the ground beef over medium heat, breaking it apart with a spatula as it cooks. Drain excess fat, if needed.

Add the diced onion and minced garlic to the skillet with the beef. Sauté for 3-4 minutes until the onion is translucent.

Stir in the chopped cabbage, diced tomatoes (with juices), beef broth, smoked paprika, Italian seasoning, salt, and pepper. Mix well and bring to a simmer.

Once the cabbage is slightly wilted, add the rice to the mixture. Stir to combine all ingredients thoroughly.

Transfer the entire mixture into a greased 9x13-inch casserole dish, spreading it out evenly.

Cover the casserole dish with aluminum foil and bake in the preheated oven for 45 minutes.

After 45 minutes, remove the foil and sprinkle the shredded cheddar cheese evenly over the top. Return to the oven and bake uncovered for an additional 15 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and bubbly.

Once done, remove from the oven and let it rest for 10 minutes before serving. Garnish with fresh parsley on top for added color and flavor.
