Ingredients

1 cup all-purpose flour

1/2 teaspoon baking powder

1/4 teaspoon baking soda

1/4 teaspoon salt

1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened

1/2 cup granulated sugar

1/4 cup brown sugar, packed

1 large egg

1 teaspoon vanilla extract

4 oz cream cheese, softened

1/4 cup powdered sugar

1 tablespoon cinnamon

1/4 cup granulated sugar (for coating)

Instructions

Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.

In a bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, baking soda, and salt. Set aside.

In a large mixing bowl, cream together the softened butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar until light and fluffy.

Beat in the egg and vanilla extract until well combined.

Gradually mix in the dry ingredients until just combined. Do not overmix.

In another bowl, beat together the cream cheese and powdered sugar until smooth and creamy.

Take a small portion of cookie dough (about a tablespoon), flatten it slightly, and add a teaspoon of the cream cheese mixture in the center. Fold the dough around the filling to form a ball. Repeat with the remaining dough and filling.

In a small bowl, mix the cinnamon and 1/4 cup of granulated sugar. Roll each filled cookie dough ball in the cinnamon-sugar mixture before placing it on the prepared baking sheet.

Bake in the preheated oven for 12-15 minutes, or until the edges are lightly golden.

Let the cookies cool on the baking sheet for 5 minutes before transferring them to a wire rack to cool completely.

Prep Time: 15 minutes | Total Time: 30 minutes | Servings: 12-15 cookies

                        - Presentation Tips: Serve the cookies on a decorative plate, dust with extra powdered sugar or serve with a side of chocolate or caramel sauce for dipping.
