Ingredients

2 cups all-purpose flour

1 tablespoon baking powder

1 teaspoon salt

1 cup shredded sharp cheddar cheese

1/4 cup cold butter, cubed

1 cup milk

1/4 cup unsalted butter, melted

1 tablespoon dried chives (optional)

Instructions

Preheat your oven to 450°F (230°C).

In a large mixing bowl, combine the flour, baking powder, and salt. Whisk together to evenly distribute the dry ingredients.

Stir in the shredded cheddar cheese until well coated with flour.

Add the cubed cold butter to the dry mixture. Use a pastry cutter or your fingers to incorporate the butter until the mixture resembles coarse crumbs.

Gradually pour in the milk, mixing until just combined. Be careful not to overmix; some lumps are fine.

In a separate bowl, prepare the butter swim by mixing the melted butter with dried chives, if using.

Pour the melted butter mixture into the bottom of a 9x13-inch baking dish, ensuring an even layer.

Drop spoonfuls of the biscuit dough over the melted butter, spacing them out evenly.

Bake for 15-20 minutes, or until the tops are golden brown and the biscuits have risen.

Remove from the oven and let cool slightly before serving.

Prep Time: 10 min | Total Time: 30 min | Servings: 8 biscuits

                        - Presentation Tips: Serve the biscuits warm, straight from the baking dish, with a sprinkle of extra cheese and chives on top for a delightful finish. Pair with a side of honey butter for dipping!
