Ingredients

1 lb ground beef

1 cup cheddar cheese, shredded

1 small onion, finely chopped

1 clove garlic, minced

1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce

Salt and pepper to taste

1 tablespoon mustard (yellow or Dijon)

1 package refrigerated pie crusts (usually 2 crusts per package)

1 egg, beaten (for egg wash)

Optional: pickles, diced (for filling)

Optional: ketchup and mustard for serving

Instructions

Prep the Filling: In a skillet over medium heat, sauté the chopped onion and minced garlic until they are translucent. Add the ground beef, breaking it apart with a wooden spoon, and cook until browned. Drain any excess fat.

Add Flavor: Stir in Worcestershire sauce, mustard, salt, and pepper. Mix well and remove the skillet from heat. Allow the mixture to cool slightly, then stir in the shredded cheddar cheese. If you like pickles, fold those in as well.

Prepare the Crust: Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C). Roll out the refrigerated pie crusts on a lightly floured surface. Use a round cutter or a glass to cut out circles (about 4-5 inches in diameter).

Fill the Pies: Place a tablespoon of the beef mixture onto one half of each pie crust circle. Be careful not to overfill. Fold the other half of the crust over to create a semi-circle. Crimp the edges with a fork to seal them securely.

Egg Wash: Transfer the hand pies to a baking sheet lined with parchment paper. Brush the tops with the beaten egg to give them a golden color when baked.

Bake: Bake in the preheated oven for about 20-25 minutes, or until the hand pies are golden brown and crispy.

Cool & Serve: Remove from the oven and allow them to cool for a few minutes before serving. Enjoy with ketchup and mustard on the side!

Prep Time: 20 mins | Total Time: 45 mins | Servings: 8 hand pies

                  - Optional Presentation Tips: Serve the hand pies on a wooden platter and garnish with fresh parsley and small bowls of ketchup and mustard for dipping.
