Ingredients

1 ½ lbs bavette steak

2 tablespoons olive oil

Salt and pepper, to taste

4 cloves garlic, minced

1 cup heavy cream

2 tablespoons Worcestershire sauce

1 tablespoon Dijon mustard

1 teaspoon smoked paprika

2 tablespoons fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)

Instructions

Prep the Steak: Remove the bavette steak from the refrigerator and let it sit at room temperature for about 30 minutes. This will ensure even cooking. Season both sides with salt and pepper.

Heat the Skillet: In a large cast iron skillet, heat the olive oil over medium-high heat until it starts to shimmer.

Sear the Steak: Carefully place the bavette steak in the hot skillet. Sear for about 4-5 minutes on one side until a golden crust forms. Flip the steak and cook for an additional 4-5 minutes for medium-rare, or longer to your desired doneness. Remove the steak from the skillet and let it rest on a cutting board, tented with foil.

Make the Sauce: In the same skillet, lower the heat to medium and add the minced garlic. Sauté for about 30 seconds until fragrant but not burnt.

Add Cream and Flavorings: Pour in the heavy cream and stir in the Worcestershire sauce, Dijon mustard, and smoked paprika. Allow the sauce to simmer for about 3-5 minutes, thickening slightly. Season with salt and pepper to taste.

Slice the Steak: Once the steak has rested for about 5 minutes, slice it against the grain into thin strips.

Serve: Plate the steak, drizzle the whiskey garlic cream sauce over it, and garnish with chopped parsley.
