sourdough bread

medium
fresh mozzarella ball, sliced
1
large
tomato, sliced
to taste
fresh basil leaves
2
tablespoons
balsamic glaze
1
tablespoon
olive oil
to taste
salt and pepper
optional
a touch of garlic powder
Instructions
Preheat a skillet over medium heat.
Brush one side of each slice of sourdough bread with olive oil.
On the un-oiled side of one slice, layer sliced mozzarella, followed by tomato slices, then fresh basil leaves.
Drizzle balsamic glaze over the basil and sprinkle with salt, pepper, and garlic powder if using.
Place the second slice of bread on top, oiled side up.
Carefully place the sandwich in the preheated skillet. Cook for about 3-4 minutes until the bottom is golden brown.
Flip the sandwich gently and cook the other side for another 3-4 minutes until the cheese melts and both sides are crispy.
Remove from the skillet and let it sit for a minute before slicing it in half.
Notes
Add garlic powder for extra flavor if desired.
