4 boneless, skinless chicken breasts

2 large tomatoes, sliced

8 oz fresh mozzarella cheese, sliced

1 cup fresh basil leaves

3 tablespoons balsamic glaze

2 tablespoons olive oil

2 teaspoons garlic powder

Salt and pepper to taste

Optional: 1 teaspoon dried oregano

Instructions
 

Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C).

    In a large skillet, heat the olive oil over medium-high heat. Season both sides of the chicken breasts with garlic powder, salt, pepper, and oregano if using.

      Once the skillet is hot, add the seasoned chicken breasts. Sear for about 5 minutes on each side until they are golden brown but not fully cooked through.

        Transfer the chicken breasts to a baking dish. Top each breast with slices of fresh tomato and mozzarella cheese, and then place a few basil leaves on top.

          Drizzle the balsamic glaze over the top of the chicken and other ingredients.

            Bake in the preheated oven for 20-25 minutes or until the chicken is cooked through and the cheese is bubbly and slightly golden.

              Remove from the oven and let it rest for a couple of minutes. Garnish with additional fresh basil before serving.
