Ingredients

2 cups water

4 black tea bags (or 4 teaspoons loose black tea)

1 cup fresh blackberries

4-6 fresh sage leaves

1 tablespoon honey (or to taste)

1 cup milk (dairy or non-dairy, such as almond or oat)

Ice cubes

Additional blackberries and sage for garnish (optional)

Instructions

Brew the Tea: In a medium saucepan, bring water to a boil. Remove from heat and add the black tea bags (or loose tea in an infuser). Let it steep for 5-7 minutes before removing the tea bags or infuser.

Prepare the Blackberry Sage Syrup: In another small saucepan, combine the fresh blackberries, sage leaves, and honey. Cook over medium heat, mashing the blackberries gently with a fork or spoon to release their juices. Let it simmer for around 5 minutes until it thickens slightly. Remove from heat and strain through a fine mesh sieve to remove solids, pressing down to extract as much liquid as possible.

Combine: In a pitcher, mix the brewed black tea with the blackberry sage syrup. Adjust sweetness by adding more honey if desired.

Prepare the Latte: In a glass, fill it halfway with ice cubes. Pour in the tea mixture until the glass is about ¾ full. Top off with milk, stirring gently to combine.

Garnish: Add a few whole blackberries and a sage leaf on top for garnish.

            - Presentation Tips: Serve in clear glasses to showcase the vibrant color of the drink. You can also drizzle a little syrup on the inside of the glass before pouring in the tea latte for a beautiful effect.
