Ingredients

2 slices of sourdough bread

2 ounces of brie cheese, sliced

1/4 cup fresh blackberries

1 tablespoon balsamic glaze

1 tablespoon unsalted butter

A pinch of salt and black pepper

Fresh basil leaves (optional, for garnish)

Instructions

In a small bowl, mash the blackberries with a fork until they are slightly broken down but still have some texture. Stir in the balsamic glaze and season with a pinch of salt and black pepper to taste. Set aside.

Lay one slice of sourdough bread on a clean surface. Place a generous layer of brie cheese over the bread.

Spread the blackberry-balsamic mixture evenly on top of the brie. If desired, add fresh basil leaves for an aromatic touch.

Top with the second slice of sourdough bread to complete the sandwich.

Heat a skillet over medium heat and add half of the butter. Once melted, carefully place the sandwich in the skillet. Grill for about 3-4 minutes, or until the bottom is golden brown and the cheese is beginning to melt.

While the first side is grilling, spread the remaining butter on the top slice of the sandwich.

Carefully flip the sandwich and grill the other side for another 3-4 minutes until golden brown and crispy.

Once both sides are perfectly grilled and the cheese is melted, remove the sandwich from the skillet and let it rest for a minute before slicing.

Prep Time: 10 mins | Total Time: 20 mins | Servings: 1 sandwich

                    - Presentation Tips: Serve the grilled cheese on a wooden board or a plate with a handful of fresh blackberries on the side. Drizzle extra balsamic glaze over the top for a beautiful finish. A sprig of fresh basil can be added for color.
