1 large Italian loaf or baguette

1 lb thinly sliced ribeye or flank steak

1 medium onion, sliced

1 medium green bell pepper, sliced

2 cups shredded provolone cheese

1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese

4 tablespoons unsalted butter

2 cloves garlic, minced

1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce

Salt and pepper, to taste

Fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)

Instructions
 

Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).

    In a large skillet over medium heat, melt 2 tablespoons of butter. Add sliced onions and green peppers. Sauté until they are soft and caramelized, about 5-7 minutes. Remove from the skillet and set aside.

      In the same skillet, add the remaining butter and minced garlic, sautéing for 1 minute. Add the thinly sliced steak and Worcestershire sauce. Season with salt and pepper to taste. Cook for about 3-4 minutes until the steak is browned but still tender.

        Line a baking sheet with parchment paper. Carefully slice the Italian loaf or baguette in half lengthwise. Place both halves cut side up on the baking sheet.

          Generously spoon the cooked steak mixture over the bread halves, spreading it evenly. Layer the sautéed onions and peppers over the steak.

            Sprinkle the shredded provolone and mozzarella cheese generously over the top of the steak and veggies.

              Bake in the preheated oven for 12-15 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and bubbly, and the edges of the bread are lightly toasted.

                Once out of the oven, let it cool for a minute. Then slice the cheesy bread into portions.

                  Garnish with chopped fresh parsley before serving.
