1/2 cup powdered sugar

1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened

1 (8 oz) package cream cheese, softened

1/2 cup granulated sugar

1 tablespoon vanilla extract

2 large eggs

1/4 cup fresh lemon juice

1/2 teaspoon baking powder

1/4 teaspoon salt

Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease an 8x8-inch baking dish or line it with parchment paper for easy removal.

    In a mixing bowl, combine the softened butter, powdered sugar, and flour. Mix until a crumbly dough forms. Press this mixture evenly into the bottom of the prepared baking dish to create the crust.

      In a separate bowl, beat the softened cream cheese and granulated sugar until smooth. Add in the vanilla extract, eggs, and lemon juice, mixing until well combined.

        Sprinkle in the baking powder and salt, and blend until you achieve a creamy texture.

          Pour the cream cheese mixture over the crust in the baking dish, smoothing it out evenly with a spatula.

            Bake in the preheated oven for 30-35 minutes, or until the center is set and the edges are lightly golden.

              Allow the squares to cool completely in the dish before lifting them out (if using parchment) or cut directly into squares while in the dish.

                Refrigerate for at least 2 hours to enhance the flavor and texture.
