Ingredients

1 pound ground beef

8 ounces bowtie pasta

1 medium onion, diced

2 cloves garlic, minced

1 bell pepper, diced (any color)

1 can (14 oz) diced tomatoes, undrained

1 cup beef broth

1 teaspoon Italian seasoning

1 teaspoon smoked paprika

Salt and pepper to taste

2 tablespoons olive oil

1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese

Fresh basil leaves for garnish

Instructions

Cook the pasta: In a large pot of boiling salted water, cook the bowtie pasta according to package directions until al dente. Drain and set aside.

Sauté the vegetables: In a large skillet over medium heat, add the olive oil. Once hot, add the diced onion and bell pepper. Sauté for about 5 minutes until softened.

Brown the beef: Increase the heat to medium-high and add the ground beef to the skillet. Cook until browned, breaking it up with a spoon, about 6-8 minutes. Drain excess fat if needed.

Add garlic and spices: Stir in the minced garlic, Italian seasoning, smoked paprika, salt, and pepper. Cook for an additional minute until garlic is fragrant.

Combine ingredients: Add the diced tomatoes (with their juice) and beef broth to the skillet. Bring to a simmer and let cook for 5-7 minutes until the mixture is slightly thickened.

Mix in the pasta: Gently fold the cooked bowtie pasta into the beef mixture until evenly coated.

Add cheese: Sprinkle the shredded mozzarella cheese over the top and cover the skillet with a lid. Allow it to cook for another 3-4 minutes or until the cheese is melted.

Serve: Remove from heat and garnish with fresh basil leaves before serving.
