Ingredients

4 cups water

2 tablespoons Thai tea leaves (or any strong black tea)

1/2 cup sweetened condensed milk

1/4 cup evaporated milk

1/4 cup sugar (adjust to taste)

Ice cubes

Optional: Star anise or cardamom pods for added spice

Instructions

In a pot, bring the water to a boil over medium heat.

Once boiling, remove from heat and add the Thai tea leaves. If desired, also add star anise or cardamom pods for extra flavor.

Let the tea steep for about 10-15 minutes, depending on how strong you want the flavor.

Strain the tea through a fine mesh sieve or cheesecloth into a pitcher to remove the tea leaves (and spices, if added).

While the tea is still warm, stir in the sugar until dissolved. Allow the tea to cool to room temperature, then place it in the refrigerator to chill.

To serve, fill a glass with ice cubes and pour the chilled tea until the glass is about 3/4 full.

Add a splash of sweetened condensed milk and evaporated milk to the glass. Stir gently to achieve a beautiful swirl effect.

Taste and adjust sweetness if necessary. Enjoy your refreshing Thai iced tea!
