Ingredients

2 cups all-purpose flour

1 tablespoon baking powder

1/2 teaspoon baking soda

1/2 teaspoon salt

1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened

1 cup 7Up (or any lemon-lime soda)

1/2 cup shredded sharp cheddar cheese

2 tablespoons fresh chives, finely chopped

Instructions

Preheat your oven to 425°F (220°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.

In a large mixing bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, baking soda, and salt until well combined.

Add the softened butter into the flour mixture and use a pastry cutter or your hands to mix until the mixture resembles coarse crumbs.

Pour in the 7Up gradually, stirring gently until the dough just comes together. Be careful not to overmix.

Fold in the shredded cheddar cheese and chopped chives until evenly distributed within the dough.

Turn the dough onto a floured surface and gently pat it down to about 1 inch thick.

Use a biscuit cutter or a glass to cut out biscuits, and place them on the prepared baking sheet, leaving space between each.

Bake in the preheated oven for 12-15 minutes or until the tops are golden brown.

Once done, remove from the oven and let them cool for a few minutes before serving.

Prep Time: 15 mins | Total Time: 30 mins | Servings: 12 biscuits

                      - Presentation Tips: Serve warm with a pat of butter on top and a sprinkle of extra chives for a pop of color. Perfect for breakfast or as a savory side!
