Ingredients

1 lb ground beef

4 slices beef bacon

1 medium onion, diced

1 cup shredded cheddar cheese

4 hoagie rolls

1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce

1 teaspoon garlic powder

Salt and pepper to taste

2 tablespoons olive oil

Optional toppings: sliced jalapeños, lettuce, sliced tomatoes, mayonnaise

Instructions

In a large skillet, heat olive oil over medium heat. Add the diced onion and sauté until translucent, about 3-4 minutes.

Add the beef bacon to the skillet and cook until crispy, about 5-6 minutes. Remove the bacon and drain on paper towels, keeping the grease in the skillet.

In the same skillet, add the ground beef to the bacon grease. Season with Worcestershire sauce, garlic powder, salt, and pepper. Cook, breaking it up with a spatula, until browned and fully cooked, about 7-8 minutes.

Once the beef is cooked, lower the heat slightly and add the crispy beef bacon back to the skillet.

Sprinkle the shredded cheddar cheese over the meat mixture and cover the skillet for a few minutes until the cheese is melted. Mix everything together to combine.

Slice the hoagie rolls open, but do not cut all the way through.

Fill each hoagie roll with the cheesy beef and bacon mixture.

If desired, add optional toppings such as sliced jalapeños, lettuce, sliced tomatoes, and a drizzle of mayonnaise.

                  Prep Time: 10 minutes | Total Time: 30 minutes | Servings: 4
